Chapter Ten

Rory made his way through the doors leading back to the open space of the lobby. He couldn’t wipe the smile off his face or hide the desire in his eyes after the elevator ride with Laysha down to her office. The ride couldn’t have been any better—well, it would’ve been better if he were buried balls deep in Laysha.

“Excuse me.”

Rory attempted to walk around the guy from the cafeteria, but he cut him off, his fist clenched at his sides.

“Leave her alone.”

Rory stood at least three inches taller than him. He folded his rock-solid arms across his broad chest and glared at the man. “Leave who alone?”

Rory asked, even though he knew he was speaking about Laysha, but he needed to know what his interest in her was.

“Don’t act like you don’t know who I’m talking about!” the man shouted. “Laysha is mine.”

The guy was delusional if he thought Laysha had any interest in him.

“Does she know that?”

Rory glared at the man as his face morphed from anger to something unrecognizable. Dangerous. Rory unfolded his arms and stepped back, ready to defend himself if he needed to.

“She will. Real soon,” he replied, malice lacing his words before he turned and walked away.

Rory knew this Dr. Davis would be a problem, and with everything happening with Brendan, he just wanted things to get moving with Laysha.
